Excavation Labourer

  • Village Earthworks is a local excavation company focused on building a team of responsive, reliable, and respectful individuals who desire to learn and are focused on delivering the highest level of service to our customers and trade partners.

    We are currently looking for an Excavation Labourer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be working on a variety of job sites, labouring on projects involving excavation, backfill, grading, demolition, snow clearing, sanitation, storm, and water services, etc.

    Suitable team members are reliable individuals who enjoy working outdoors daily and are comfortable using various excavation-related tools and equipment.

      Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

      Pay: $24.00-$32.00 per hour

      Expected hours: 40 – 55 per week

      Additional pay: Overtime pay

    • Work as a part of an excavation and site servicing crew.

    • Safely and efficiently use construction tools and equipment.

    • Interact with customers and coworkers professionally and respectfully.

    • Communicate with the supervisor to ensure job satisfaction is achieved.

    • Comply with all governing company and industry safety and regulatory requirements.

    • Required to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.

    • Must be willing to work 40-50 hours per week and some weekends depending on workload.

    • Other duties will be assigned as required.

    • 0-3 years of previous small equipment operating experience is preferred.

    • Interest in continuing to learn and grow with the business.

    • Solid work ethic and interest in being a part of the team.

    • Understand design drawings, and utility locates and can set grades for an asset.

    • Ability to work independently, problem-solve and meet schedule objectives.

    • Must have a valid driver's license to get to and from project sites.

    • Physical ability to lift to 50 pounds and work in various weather conditions.

    • Must obtain WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety Awareness training.

    • 10-hour shift

    • Day shift

    • Monday to Friday

    • Work Location: On the road
